Second price hike in 2022

According to a recent regulatory filing by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the carmaker will raise prices on all of its models beginning in April 2022. The car manufacturer stated that an increase in input costs has had a negative impact on vehicle manufacturing costs over the last year.

The company also stated that the price increase will vary depending on the model variants. The model-specific increase has yet to be disclosed by the automaker, but it is expected to be known in the coming weeks. This is the carmaker's second price increase in 2022, with the first occurring in January 2022. Currently, the brand's portfolio includes 14 vehicles ranging from the Alto (Rs 3.25 lakh, ex-showroom) to the XL6 (Rs 10.14 lakh, ex-showroom).

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has already announced the launch of the Celerio CNG, updated Wagon R, Dzire CNG, and new Baleno in 2022. This month, the company will release a facelift version of its flagship XL6 MPV. The 2022 XL6 will almost certainly get a new front grille, larger alloy wheels, and new features.
