The Official Exterior Sketches of the Facelifted Hyundai Venue Have Been Revealed

  • 2022 Hyundai Venue’s prices to be announced on June 16; unofficial bookings underway.
  • Some new design elements include alloy wheels, wider grille, reshaped bumpers and connected LED taillights.
  • The interior is also expected to undergo certain revisions in the form of upgraded upholstery and updated centre console layout.
  • Feature additions should include ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and four airbags (standard).
  • No mechanical changes expected, save for the possible addition of a diesel-auto combination.
Hyundai has announced that the facelifted Venue, for which unofficial bookings are already available, will go on sale on June 16. The updated SUV's exterior has also been revealed via official sketches by the automaker.

The updated Venue appears sportier while maintaining its boxy silhouette. The front grille with dark chrome inserts is reminiscent of the upcoming Tucson. The split headlamp setup remains, but the upper lighting now consists of three elements. The front bumper has been updated to have a more straightforward appearance.

Moving on to the vehicle's side profile, the only difference is the alloy wheels, which have a new design. While the front end of the subcompact SUV appears more aggressive, the rear end appears quirky and futuristic. It gets connected LED tail lamps that look modern and eerily similar to the stop lights on the Volkswagen Taigun. With the addition of extra cladding, the bumper appears more upright and rugged.

The interiors have yet to be revealed, but we anticipate some changes to the centre console layout and upholstery. LED headlamps, a larger touchscreen infotainment system (possibly the Sonet's 10.25-inch unit), a premium sound system, front ventilated seats, and standard four airbags are expected to be added to the Venue.

Hyundai is expected to keep the Venue's current powertrains. It currently has three engines: an 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine has a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel has a 6-speed manual transmission. The turbo engine is available in three transmission options: 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual), and 7-speed DCT. The 115PS 1.5-litre diesel / 6-speed AT combination from the Sonet could be added to the engine lineup.

The current Venue costs between Rs 7.11 lakh and Rs 11.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and the new model will cost more. The Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV300 will compete with the subcompact Hyundai SUV.
