In just two weeks, the new Hyundai Tucson has received over 3,000 reservations.
Hyundai has received a positive response for the Tucson, with over 3,000 bookings in 15 days. The automaker has stated that it expects demand to far outnumber supply, and that the waiting period will be revealed at the time of the launch on August 10.
Test drives of the new Tucson began in July, and the SUV will be sold through Hyundai's Signature outlets, which also sell the Alcazar Signature and i20 N Line. Bookings for the 2022 Tucson are now open for a nominal fee of Rs 50,000.
The Hyundai Tucson will be available in Platinum and Signature trim levels. The flagship Hyundai will be powered by 186PS 2-litre diesel and 156PS 2-litre petrol engines, which will be paired with 8-speed and 6-speed automatic transmissions, respectively. The Signature diesel model is available with an all-wheel-drive system with 'Snow,' 'Mud,' and 'Sand' terrain modes.
In terms of styling, premium feel, and features, the new Tucson is a significant improvement over the previous generation. The most notable addition is ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems), which is a first for a Hyundai vehicle in India. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and driver attention warning are all part of its comprehensive ADAS suite.
Dual 10.25-inch displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment), ventilated, heated, and powered front seats, dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and hill-ascent and descent control are also standard.
The new Hyundai Tucson is expected to start at Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), competing with the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
