The Tata Altroz Dual Clutch Automatic (DCA) has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Altroz DCA is powered by a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine and comes in four variants: XM+, XT, XZ, and XZ+. Furthermore, the Altroz DCA is available in three additional trims – XZ(O), XT, and XZ+ variants in the Dark edition trims.
A 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine produces 85bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 3,300rpm. The premium hatchback is also available with a five-speed manual transmission, in addition to the new DCA transmission. According to the company, the Altroz DCA has wet clutch technology, which is better suited for hot weather conditions. The active cooling feature is thought to monitor the oil temperature and take corrective action when it deviates from the ideal condition.
Furthermore, the new DCA unit is capable of comparing the car's performance to ideal parameters and adjusting the transmission based on the driving conditions. Furthermore, the technology is capable of minimising jerks or shocks to provide a smooth driving experience. The Altroz DCA is outfitted with shift by wire technology, which is entirely electronic and eliminates the need for shifter cables.
The Indian automaker also claims that the new Altroz DCA has a self-healing mechanism that can clear out dust and thus extend the transmission's life. For added security, the Altroz DCA includes an Auto Park Lock feature that activates the park mode automatically if the driver forgets and steps out of the vehicle. Before the active mode is activated, this feature detects the absence of a seatbelt, the absence of a pedal, the opening of a door, and the presence of an engine.
Aside from advanced mechanical updates, the Altroz automatic features premium leatherette seats, a seven-inch Harman touchscreen, a seven-inch TFT digital cluster, rear AC vents, iRA connected car technology, and more.
