  Mahindra has quietly discontinued the Alturas G4's base 2WD variant. The Mahindra Alturas G4 SUV is now only available in 4WD and costs Rs 31.88 lakh (ex-showroom). It should be noted that the Indian carmaker's full-sized SUV received its most recent update in April 2020, when the 2.2-litre diesel engine was tweaked to meet BS6 emission standards. The base variant lacked features such as LED fog lamps, ambient lighting, an electric sunroof, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera, memory function for the driver seat, and a powered tailgate. The Alturas G4 is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 178bhp and 420Nm of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels.
